The Paediatrics Department of GL Hospital is a Premier Tertiary level department since it takes care of both preventive and curative aspects of children's health. The services offered include general out-patient and in-patient care and pediatric surgical services for children of all age groups, including newborn care.
We offer pediatric outpatient services for immunizations and routine care and 24X7 emergency services for all kinds of acute and chronic illnesses. We have a well-equipped Paediatric ward and PICU with adequately trained staff to provide the best possible round-the-clock medical care in a child-friendly environment. Children with complex clinical conditions are treated through a coordinated effort of a dedicated team of experienced and well-trained clinicians and super specialists. We also offer excellent round-the-clock paediatric transport facilities. The department strives to provide all aspects of holistic paediatric care to children both during illness and health.
The Paediatric Department also has a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit where sick newborns are taken care of. This unit is fully equipped with Radiant Warmer, Incubator and Phototherapy unit.
Paediatric Surgical work includes management of all birth defects and diseases specific to children as well. Paediatric Laparoscopic Surgery is the highlight of this Institution. It leads in this field in the country as it was first started here and it acts as a training centre for Paediatric Laparoscopy.
All high-risk deliveries are attended by one of the paediatricians who is well – trained in Neonatal resuscitation of babies. All newborns are screened under "New Born Screening Programme" for the presence of any treatable congenital abnormalities.
